Descriptions
Tap
- the American tradition. Making music with your feet,
timing, rhythm patterns.
Broadway Tap
- Each week we will be focusing on a classic B roadway
musical, working on a warm-up and combination while
incorporating theatrical expressions and prop usage into
each routine. Broadway tap will not only consist of learning
the steps but of taking on the personality and charisma that
embody Broadway. We will be using fun and exciting music
from 42nd Street, Anything Goes, Chicago, A Chorus Line, The
Pajama Game and Thoroughly Modern Millie.
Rhythm Tap - This class will
focuses on rhythm and musicality not only from feet, but
also from the soul. This class will take you through time to
visit what tap used to be and how it has evolved in to what
it is today. We will be using various exercises to
strengthen the legs, feet, and ankles, as well as
incorporating speed, rhythm, and musicality to these
patterns.
Ballroom
- No partner required.
This class will introduce every beginner dance;
changing every week (waltz, tango, foxtrot, swing,
hussle, merengue ...)
Ballet
- the foundation of dance, Russian style classes as well as
classical American Ballet.
Lyrical
- a fusion of jazz and ballet.
Modern
- contemporary movement utilizing ballet techniques. Known
as the blending of various backgrounds and variations on
movement. A verity of techniques will be taught.
Floor Barre

Come experience a great workout
on the floor, pilates style with fun music.
You’ll achieve strong
and lean muscles like the dancers.
Jazz
- essential part of dance and foundation for different jazz
styles.
Musical Theater Jazz
-
A dance class and acting class rolled
into one. Students will be introduced to age
appropriate Broadway Shows and Musicals through
Acting exercises/games and dance/movement.
Hip Hop
- Street dance danced to the latest music. A variety of
styles including old school basics, Locking, popping, waving.
Break Dance
- street dance referred to as b-boying or b-girling athletic
movements and freezes.
Street Jazz

If you want to learn the latest dance moves, this
class is for you! The class is a mixture of funk,
hip hop and
jazz dance.
Kids in Motion
- creative movement for children ages
3-5. Introduction to dance through
ballet, tap, singing, and rhythm games.
Princess
Ballet -
This a beginner ballet class with
a “Princess Theme.” Almost every girl dreams
of being a princess and now she can while learning
the ballet basics.
Salsa
- The beginner classes will explore the roots and rhythms of
Salsa music and other Latin dance forms. The dancers will
learn the major forms of the basic step and turns involved
in the dance as well as individual footwork and shines. By
the end of the session, students will gain and distinguish
an appreciation for the Latin rhythms that make up Salsa
music and confidence in dancing socially.
Belly Funk®
-
Belly Funk® is an innovative
dance and fitness program that bridges the borders
between Middle Eastern belly dance and American hip
hop. Developed by Nicole Cassarino Conlon, a
professional hip hop dancer and choreographer, and
Aazura, a professional belly dancer, Belly Funk®
combines the soft, sensuous movements of belly dance
with the energetic, urban flavor of hip hop. This
same evolution is reflected in current music trends
by artists such as Shakira, Beyonce, Britney Spears
and the Pussy Cat Dolls.
Belly Funk® uniquely combines
the core conditioning of belly dance with the cardio
and aerobic exercise of hip hop. Belly Funk’s rapid
twists and shimmies tighten waistlines, firm
obliques and increases stamina.
Bollywood
- The dance is infectious, blending an Indian
version of Broadway with bhangra, jazz,
contemporary, and various styles to tell a story
Yoga
- This
Yoga Class is designed for
everybody, emphasizing simple and effective
postures. We will begin with a gentle warm-up, move
on to Sun Salutations which will bring heat and
flexibility to the muscles; allowing our muscles to
lengthen and elongate while stretching; and end with
'relaxation.' Yoga
breathing is very important in
Yoga so we will first learn about Pranayama
breathng. Please
feel free to tell me of any injuries, painful areas
or sore pla
ces in your body, as well as
areas needing special attention. I hope to
incorporate poses and/or stretches for these areas.
Please bring a yoga mat, a small towel, and water.
If you wish, you may bring a stretchy strap (if you
have one).
Zumba
- a dance/fitness program based on international
rhythms including salsa, merengue, cumbia and
reggaetone. It is a cardio-based workout designed to
tone and sculpt the entire body. An exciting
exercise system in a party-like, non-intimidating
atmosphere. Just go with the flow and enjoy the
party!
